Public product notes

Serializer, in context.

A schema-driven state framework for data exchange and editable applications.

Released — profile-specific supportProduct overview

Purpose & status.

Define application models, exchange structured data and add managed state where it fits. Serializer is an independently named framework with released capabilities defined by language and component profiles.

Released — profile-specific support. A source release does not establish availability of every capability in every package or language profile.

Capability scope.

Released within documented profiles

Start with a shared model

A schema compiler generates models and codecs for multiple languages. Wire formats, compression and compatibility rules vary by output and provider.

Add managed application state

The C++ managed runtime supports typed editing, transactions, immutable reads and history. Recovery journals follow their selected durability contract.

Coordinate with explicit boundaries

Authority/client mechanisms coordinate edits and selected merges. Applications supply authentication, transport, trusted session bindings and conflict handling.

Choose the right storage profile

The optional C++ database persists complete eager roots. Scalar and disk indexes have bounded profiles; they do not make the entire model larger than RAM.

Important limitations.

  • Released capabilities depend on component, language, installed version and supported profile. Published packages can lag the source release.
  • Source compiler/runtime release 3.0.0 and schema language 2.0.0 are independently versioned. Other language profiles do not establish full C++ feature parity.
  • The compiler and compiler API use GPL-3.0-or-later; runtime and Serializer-authored generated support have 0BSD permissions, subject to schema and third-party terms. Consult the public licensing guide.
